Welche Lampenfassungen gibt es?
Die drei beliebtesten Lampenfassungen sind die Fassungen E27, E14 und G9. Sie werden heute in fast allen haushaltsüblichen Lampen verbaut.
Die Lampenfassung ist der Teil einer Glühbirne, an dem das Leuchtmittel schließlich fixiert wird. Jeder kennt die Situation, wenn ein Leuchtmittel in einer Glühbirnenfassung fixiert werden soll. Häufig kommt es dabei vor, dass die Fassung der Birne eine andere ist als die Fassung der Lampe an sich. Das liegt unter anderem daran, dass es mittlerweile viele verschiedene Typen von Lampenfassungen auf dem Markt gibt. In diesem Kapitel werden die bekanntesten Lampenfassungen in einer Übersicht vorgestellt.
Durch die Fixierung des Leuchtmittels mit der Lampenfassung wird schließlich der elektrische Kontakt hergestellt, der dazu führt, dass die Lampe auch tatsächlich leuchtet und mit Strom, also der Energiequelle, versorgt wird.

Was sind E27 Fassungen?
Eine E27 Lampenfassung besitzt einen Gewindedurchmesser von 27 mm. Das E steht hierbei für Thomas Edison, der den Lampensockel hierzu erfunden hat.
Bei all den Typen von Lampen haben sie eines gemeinsam: sie verfügen über einen Lampensockel. Dieser Lampensockel ist auf eine bestimmte Lampenfassung ausgerichtet. Das heißt, dass beispielsweise die beliebtesten Lampen mit der Lampenfassung E27 nicht in einen Sockel für E14 Lampen passen.
Daher ist es wichtig bereits vor dem Kauf eines Leuchtmittels darauf zu achten, welche Gewindegröße dein Leuchtmittel haben muss, damit es auch in den Lampensockel geschraubt werden kann. Die E27 Lampenfassungen stellen hierbei die beliebteste Gruppe dar. Das E vor der Zahl steht hierbei für Edisongewinde. Heute werden sie gerne auch als Elektrogewinde oder Glühlampengewinde bezeichnet und sind nach IEC 60061:2014 sowie in der DIN 40400 genormt.Was sind E14 Fassungen?

Ebenfalls sehr beliebt und daher weit verbreitet sind neben den breiten 27 Millimeter-Gewinden auch die Lampenfassungen E14. Die beliebtesten Lampen mit der Lampenfassung E14 haben eine Kerzenform und sind oftmals in Kronleuchtern verbaut. Diese Typen der Lampenfassung werden zudem gerne als Mignon-Fassung bezeichnet, da sie deutlich schmaler sind und sich damit eher für schlichte Zwecke eignen.
Sowohl die E27 Lampenfassungen als auch die E14 Lampenfassungen gibt es in verschiedenen Arten von Lampen. Ein erster Überblick genügt, um herauszufinden, dass klassische Leuchtmittel durch LED-Lampen und dimmbare Leuchtmittel mit diesen Fassungen ergänzt werden.
Die Lichtstärke in Candela oder die Beleuchtungsstärke in Lux haben zunächst einmal keinen Einfluss auf das Gewinde, wie häufig fälschlicherweise vermutet wird.

Gibt es einen Unterschied zwischen Lampenfassung und Lampensockel?
Während es zwischen den verschiedenen Typen der Lampenfassungen E27, E14 und G9 gravierende Unterschiede gibt, haben am Ende doch alle eines gemeinsam. Der Deckel muss zum Topf passen, oder anders formuliert, das Gewinde des Leuchtmittels muss zum Lampensockel passen!

Die unterschiedlichen Lampensockel sind hierbei auch nach IEC 60061-1 genormt. Es gibt also keinen Unterschied zwischen dem Lampensockel und der Lampensockel, da diese genormt sind und immer zu den jeweiligen Gewindegrößen der Leuchtmittel passen.
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen E14 und E27?
Der Unterschied zwischen einer Lampenfassung E14 und der Lampenfassung E27 liegt in der Breite vom Gewinde. Während das Gewinde E14 nur 14 Millimeter breit ist, besitzt das Gewinde einer Lampenfassung von E27 eine Breite von 27 Millimeter. Falls im Supermarkt dann doch einmal das falsche Gewinde gekauft wurde, gibt es auch passende Adapter, mit denen sich auch eine E14-Lampe auf eine E27-Fassung schrauben lässt.
Wie öffne ich eine Lampenfassung?
Eine Lampenfassung lässt sich öffnen, indem zunächst die Sicherungen abgedreht werden und anschließend der Fassungsdeckel entgegen des Uhrzeigersinns herausgedreht wird. Im ersten Schritt ist es wichtig sicherzustellen, dass die Lampenfassung nicht mehr am Netz angeschlossen ist. Anschließend geht es darum den Fassungsnippel zu finden. Dieser sitzt meist am seitlichen Rand des Fassungssteins. Im nächsten Schritt wird der Fassungsnippel in Richtung des Mittenkontaktes gedrückt. Nun lässt sich der Fassungsmantel entgegen des Uhrzeigersinns aufdrehen. Deine Lampenfassung ist nun geöffnet und kann, sofern sie kaputt ist, repariert werden. Wichtig ist aber, dass diese Schritte nötig sind, um die Lampenfassung zu öffnen. Denn nur so lässt sich erkennen, ob das Produkt auch den Sicherheitsanforderungen des GS-Siegels entspricht. Es gibt übrigens auch noch viele weitere Lampenfassung, die aber weniger verbreitet sich. Es lohnt sich daher beim Kauf darauf zu achten, welche Lampenfassung das Produkt besitzt und ob die passenden Leuchtmittel überall erhältlich sind.
